The actual Pro Cleats measure 1.5cm (15mm). The front (ball of the foot) has (4) 3-pronged cleats and the back (heel) has (1) 3-pronged and (1) 4-pronged cleats for maximum traction.
The stretchy but firm rubber helps keep the Pro Cleats tight on your shoes or boots. The re-enforced stainless steel chains are built to last.

A: Very easily! First, position the Action Traction over the toe of your shoes or boots, and then holding the rear heel straps, stretch the length of your shoe and pull it up in the back. Adjust the cleats as necessary positioning them under your forefoot and heel.

These traction improvers are an absolute necessity if you are a car-free person in Maine. Walking safely is impossible during the winter because of the frozen permafrost and black ice coating everything (except the sidewalk outside my rental because I am O.C.D. about keeping it ice free). The conditions are tough on the ice spikes, though, so expect to do some maintenance and frequent inspections. Because of the way I walk, one of the inner chain-links snaps after a mile or so, so I had to modify with some pliable knotted cord. The icy pavement wears on the spikes, but you can get at least two winters out of them. I also invented some over shoes so I can walk inside the store without having to remove the spikes, which, is not the easiest thing to do in the freezing cold
