Looking after someone with dementia can be stressful and mean interrupted sleep for the carer too. People living with dementia can experience changed sleep patterns and find it more difficult to have a restful night.

The Original Chillow is a cooling device that gently reduces body temperature to a more comfortable level for anyone struggling to sleep, making it easier to drift off.

The Chillow's unique water-based cooling system helps heat radiate away from the body without ever making it cold. Requiring only the addition of water, the Chillow can be slipped inside a standard pillowcase to provide a soothing, cooling comfort for anyone struggling with sleep.

A sleep study showed that people using Chillow got to sleep more quickly as well as spending 21% more time in REM sleep. REM (Rapid Eye Movement) is the deepest stage of sleep, meaning you are less likely to wake in the night, and also the stage most closely associated with rejuvenation for both the body and mind.

How to use it:

• 1. Add water, re-cap valve
• 2. Let rest for 4 hrs, roll air bubble
• 3. Release air bubble
• 4. Let cool - do not freeze

How Chillow works:

Chillow works by continuously circulating water to absorb and release body heat. Outer edges often feel cooler as they have not absorbed any heat and are working to radiate it. If your Chillow feels cooler at night than it does in the morning it is working normally. If you want a cooler spot in the morning simply move to an outer edge.

Making Chillow cooler:

Some tips to make your Chillow as cool as possible:

• 1. Make sure it is the correct weight of 2kg / 4.5lbs. If not, add more water.
• 2. Reduce air inside to create a vacuum seal. Repeat steps 2 and 3 from over the page.
• 3. Keep it out of the sun. Direct sunlight will warm your Chillow.
• 4. Refrigerate it for 15-30 minutes. Do not freeze, it will damage your Chillow and void your warranty.

Cleaning and storage:

To clean: wipe gently with a damp cloth and mild soapy water. Build up of skin oils can harden the surface over time.

For hygiene reasons, do not share the Chillow.

Mould can be introduced to the Chillow via unclean water or water vessels. The non-toxic antimicrobial inner core combats this but will not kill all moulds. If over time you find mould or an unusual smell, please discard your Chillow.

To store: Do not empty the water, this will drain out the antimicrobial treatment. Store flat at room temperature on top of a towel. Leave uncovered to breathe.

Over time water may evaporate naturally from your Chillow. You can add water to keep at its proper cooling capacity and weight of 2kg / 4.5lbs.

Taking care of your Chillow:

For maximum comfort and cooling, the Chillow is made from soft, thin materials, which can be punctured. However, with normal use and care to avoid sharp objects, it should provide years of comfort. Before it leaves our factory, we have ensured your Chillow has no leaks by compressing it with a vacuum seal. Please be careful with how you handle it and don't put it on or near any sharp object that could puncture it.Punctures are not manufacturing defects and are not covered by your warranty.

If Chillow becomes bunched:

If the core material becomes bunched or twisted inside, simply:

• Open the cap
• Blow 2 or 3 breaths into it and recap
• Shake the material into place starting from a corner
• Repeat steps 2 and 3 from over the page

Warnings:

• May cause an allergic skin reaction, if reaction occurs stop using immediately
• This is not a toy, keep away from children and babies
• Do not machine wash
• Do not share for hygiene reasons
• Keep away from fire
• Keep away from sharp objects
• Do not use if punctured or leaking
• Do not freeze
• If you are diabetic or su er from poor circulation, consult a doctor before using Chillow
